Collet Lock Blade System
Items using this style of emitter require no set screws and use standard blades; it provides 360 degrees of clamping force on the blade, resulting in far better blade retention than traditional blade sockets with set screws.
Collet Lock Blade System: A collet is a machined metal sleeve with slits that compresses to securely hold a cylinder when two housings are threaded together; it was developed for high-speed machining where retention of cylindrical metal bits under extremely high torque and speed is required. We took the tried-and-true concept of a machining collet and adapted it to work with polycarbonate blades. Simply unthread the emitter cap a few turns to loosen the collet, slide the blade into the blade holder, then thread the emitter cap down snugly to tighten the collet down onto the blade.
